Review and Approval of Previous Minutes:

March meeting minutes were approved.

League Reports:

Disciplinary Chairmen’s Report:  Pat McNamara

·         Game cards and player passes continue to be turned in late.  City Reps need to work on speeding up the handling of these documents.  For a game where a red card is issued but the game card and player pass not turned in, the offending player may not play but their disciplinary action will not have started.  They will end up sitting out more games than otherwise required.

·         Any player given a red card cannot play until their penalty time is determined and served.

Operations Report:  Gene Stoegbauer (not present)

·         No report.

Registrar Report:  Karl Thomas

·         Nothing to Report

Treasurer Reports:  Pam Blessington (not present)

·         Presumably submitted report by e-mail

City Rep Reports:

Danville:  Christine Helmer

·         Diablo Vista field was in very bad condition for the games.  Requested that the field be mowed no sooner than Thursdays.

·         Danville field representative (Doug Vezina) requested that players not allow their children to play in the baseball infields at the parks.  This can damage the fields for baseball.

·         Walnut Creek has asked for the cost to use Danville fields.  The Walnut Creek City reps were directed to submit a formal request for pricing to which Danville will respond.

·         A question was raised regarding Danville’s ability to handle more teams – are there enough fields?  Discussion to continue.  Danville suggested that Walnut Creek might get some help for fields from the Lafayette School District

·         CH had heard there were still complaints about goals without anchors.  Is there still a problem?   General feeling was that this issue had been taken care of.

·         It had been suggested that if game cards were not in on time, there would be forfeits.  This is not the league policy.  The only issue with late game cards is that disciplinary actions cannot be initiated and the official game results cannot be posted.  (Need to have official results for standings at the end of the season.)

·         City Reps need to keep a log of what game cards they have received and turned in.

·         If a player from one team wants to play on another team, they must first relinquish their player pass for current team.

San Ramon:  Bill Gilfillan (Not Present)

·         No report.

Walnut Creek:  Cindy Phillips

·         One problem that Walnut Creek teams are having with fields is that the City of Walnut Creek has too many individuals involved in assigning fields – they do not always coordinate.

·         Some Walnut Creek fields have been paid for but were not available.  CP will look into the matter of refunds and clarify whether or not the previous City Rep made payments for fields this spring.

·         The El Divisidero field is still not available due to continued rains.

·         While the status of fields may be posted on the Web Site, the policy remains that the home team rep provides all official information regarding field availability.  Home team reps must keep visiting teams informed if there are changes to the scheduled field or game time.

Orinda:  Stuart McAllister

·         Has located a field for their June 5th game.

·         Confirmed that the Acalanes field would be available for April 24th Rhythm game.

Unfinished Business:

None.

New Business:

Discussed who would be on the ballot for DASL Board position at the May Annual General Meeting.  There may be a candidate for VP from CSA United (Allen Germeck).  There may also be a candidate for VP from Walnut Creek United (Jim Guenthner).

Sadly, no one wants to be Secretary.

There are two proposed Constitutional changes that will be voted upon at the AGM.  A copy of the proposals (One addressing “Home Team Responsibilities” and the other addressing Referees”) was distributed for review.  Need to have any suggested changes to the proposals by April 15th.

There was some discussion of other potential changes to the Constitution (too late for this year) – Women minimum age of 25, consequences of referees not being at a game.

SR will make arrangements for the meeting place for the AGM.

Member’s Concerns:

None.

Meeting adjourned at 8:55 pm.

Next meeting (AGM) is May 18, 2005
