League Reports:

Disciplinary Chairmen’s Report:  Ralph Schutz

It has been a relatively quiet time.  Only one red card and about six yellow cards have been issued lately.  There has been a problem when new players get cards but the updated team rosters have not been sent to the Disciplinary Chairman.

One special circumstance was noted.  A player who was red carded was given additional suspension time due to their off-field behavior following the red card action.  This type of behavior is not acceptable and will not be tolerated.  The league has the discretion to take whatever action is appropriate under the circumstances.

Ralph Schutz will be leaving the area at the end of June.  Pat McNamara will be the new Disciplinary Chairman starting next season.  Jim Walshe will take over the referee coordination responsibilities.

Jim Walshe’s contact information is as follows:

Work e-mail:    Jim.Walshe@chevrontexaco.com

Home e-mail:   Jim.Walshe@comcast.net

Work phone:    925-842-0323

It was noted that in two instances referees had received bad checks.  Should bad checks be used for payment in the future, the City rep will talk with the team rep to determine the circumstances.  If it is determined that a pattern of bad checks is emerging, cash payment will be required.

The league thanked Ralph for all his efforts as Disciplinary Chairman and Referee Coordinator.

Operations Report:  Wes Motschmann

No Report

Registrar:  Vacant

No Report

Treasurer Reports:  Pam Blessington

Current balance in DASL account is $1,356.44, unchanged since the AGM.

City Rep Reports:

Danville:  Karl Thomas

Karl raised the question as to when insurance payments were due.  Payments must be to the Treasurer no later than September 1, 2004.  Next season Karl will be the league Registrar.  There is currently no replacement for him as city representative.

San Ramon:  Bill Gilfillan

San Ramon wants to continue to have the referees coordinated centrally.  Also, there may be a new team interested in joining the league from San Ramon.  (This action must be brought to the board along with a $100 deposit.  The request must be made the first week in July for the fall session and the first week in January for the spring session.)  It is possible that one or two teams may not return next season.

Walnut Creek:  Linda Zoccoli

Acting for Linda, Bob Murphy expressed Walnut Creeks’ appreciation of San Ramon’s efforts to help with fields.

Orinda:  Stuart McAllister

No report.

Unfinished Business:

None

New Business:

At the AGM, none of the proposed changes to the bylaws passed.

There has been a problem with the Orinda team not having fields.  If this is not an ongoing issue, other cities will help if they are given enough time to coordinate.  If the Orinda team cannot ever get their own fields it does not make sense to remain as a separate city team.  The league president will address this issue with the Orinda City Representative.  They will be expected to host 6 games.

The league President expressed appreciation to all those league members who have participated in the running of the league this season.
