PM League Reports
Disciplinary Chairmen’s Report; Ralph Schutz
Ralph presented his concerns about the increase in the
number of red cards in the last 3 weeks. Please remind the players that this
league is for fun.
Premier games are currently scheduled to have 3 referees at
all the games, however, if only 2 show up and officiate the game,
they are still paid $35 a piece. The fee is per official, not per game.
REMINDER: At the end of the game, game cards and player
passes for red carded players go to the home team! The home team representative
is responsible for getting the cards and passes to the city representative. The
city rep is then responsible for sending all game cards to the appropriate
place. All game cards with yellow cards or red cards (with player passes) are
sent directly to Ralph. All other game cards are sent to Wes.
Ralph provided the San Ramon city rep (Bill) formal warning
about a San Ramon team bantering the officials at
games. Wes will contact the team representative and discuss the issue.
Ralph also pointed out that he has had many reports of
referees having family and health issues decreasing the amount of available
referees. Therefore, some Premier division games may have 2 officials instead
of 3.
Operations Report; Wes Motschmann
Wes received 2 or 3 rather lengthy e-mails from disgruntled
players concerning the standing on the site not being updated or official in a
timely manner. The individuals are upset because they have turned in the game
cards appropriately, yet the site does not reflect this. Discussion with
individuals followed, with some understanding as to why this has occurred.
Wes is also concerned by the increase of bookings across the
league. Overall the board expresses concerns about this issue. It was also
noted that the increase could potentially be caused by the push to enforce the
disciplining unacceptable behavior.
Ralph did point out that a majority of the cards are being
issued for unsporting like conduct and dissent. After players understand that
officials will not be as lenient, the number of occurrences will hopefully
decline.
Karl also would like to see the team representatives take
more initiative in controlling their teammates.
Treasurer Report (Registrar, Pro Tem); Pam Blessington
Pam was absent.
8:30
PM City Rep Reports
At the Danville Club meeting, Karl delivered the information
that inter-league play with Pinole cannot happen due to insurance coverage.
Karl also explained that as the result of discussion at the
last board meeting, he sent e-mails to two teams noted as having behavior
problems. One of the two teams has taken strides in controlling the
objectionable behaviors.
At the club meeting last night, discipline issues were
discussed in great length. One team that has not taken action to improve their
attitude has been notice by the club. The suggestion of suspension or expulsion
from the club is being considered if no improvement is seen. The topic of
behavior was discusses at length and hopefully the team in question will head
the words expressed.
It was also brought up at the club meeting that the behavior
of a San Ramon team has declined considerable and would like to see the San
Ramon club take similar actions to reduce this unpleasant conduct.
Also, a reminder that the Primos Run for Education is this
Sunday (the 12th of October) and it will impact accessibility of
some fields. Please make sure all players that are affected take proper action
to arrive at the field on time.
San Ramon, Bill Gillfilan
Bill reported that he will speak to Mike Dunn and reiterate
Wes’s change in address to him so that the game cards are no longer delayed in
getting to Wes.
He will also watch the game occurring prior to his team’s
game to observe if the San Ramon team with questionable behavior has taken
steps to decrease the actions causing alarm within the league. He will also
check with the team representative to ensure the understanding of the level of
concern.
Wes expressed the fact that he is not getting results from
one particular team. Linda is also having trouble getting in contact with the
necessary people.
Another game that was noted as a forfeit was discussed. The
reason why the team backed out of the game was due to the fact that a family
member of many of the women players was in the hospital. Wes reported that he
would not have marked it as a forfeit if he had been told of the circumstances.
He is fine with the game being rescheduled if both teams agree.
Linda also reported that she has Arbolado fields for the
rest of the season, if any day there are less than 4 game scheduled then the
fields are available to those in need.
Karl also mentioned that MTV field might be available as
well.
8:56 PM Old/Unfinished Business
None
New Business
Ralph presented the information that the all weather fields
are not closed by the city during increment weather. Therefore, teams must show
up prepared to play. The referees will access the condition of the weather and
the field and determine if the game should or should not be played. Conditions
that would require postponement would be thunder, lightning and/or deep
standing water.
9:10
