For
Round Table Pizza-150 Alamo Plaza-Alamo, CA
Attendees: Linda Zoccoli, Bill Gilfillan, Stuart McAllister, Doug Vezina, Pam Blessington, Sabrina Ruehl, Sue Heng, Wes Motschmann, Hans Rothkehl
7:41 PM Call to Order; Sabrina Ruehl
Minutes from the meetings of November 13 and October 9, 2002 were reviewed and a motion to approve was passed.
7:44 PM League Reports
Disciplinary Chairmen’s Report; Hans Rothkehl
Hans handed out offence statistics occurring over the last 5 years. He noted that he has made this information available on the San Ramon Adult Soccer League web site with a link to that site from the DASL web site. Hans pointed out that for some reason there appeared to be a dramatic dip in offences during the 2000-2001 season, all other seasons were 3 to 4 times higher.
Hans also indicated that he was still waiting for a player pass from a particular Danville player.
Operations Report; Wes Motschmann
Wes informed everyone that the game results for the Fall session are complete and up to date on the DASL web site. He was able to keep the web site updated more regularly as the session progressed due to the fact that the game cards were begin turned over to him in a much more timely fashion. He hopes that the next session improves still. Teams have been relegated and / or promoted as noted on the site.
Wes has proposed name changes to the divisions in hopes of better clarification of the division definitions. He would also like to enhance the web site a bit so that if someone would like to view the results of a game and / or the standings for that division, they will only have to view the results within that division instead of having to “weed” through all the games played.
Wes also needs final field availability as soon as possible. He does not want a scheduling nightmare like for the Fall session. Danville will be able to provide 5 fields for March and April and 7 fields for May and June. Orinda will have 1 field for sure with a possibility of a second if needed to pick up for shortage with Walnut Creek. San Ramon has the two Central Park fields and is investigating the possibility for more. Walnut Creek will have 1 field for March, possibly none for April but is looking into an alternative. They will be able to provide the 2 Arbolado fields after April.
Registrar/Treasurer Reports; Pam Blessington
Pam handed out rosters. She would like player information updates turned in to her more regularly. Please provide updates to Pam via e-mail or snail mail as soon as there is any kind of change for or addition of a player. There have been issues with players providing referees passes but they are not on the roster or have inaccurate information. Pam also indicated that she still needs waivers from 2 Danville players. Kickin’ Grass still needs to have all waivers in to Pam prior to February 12 or they will not be able to play the Spring session.
Pam also pointed out that our insurance will expire March 1st. The possibility exists that we will have to find a new insurance carrier. In this case, there may also be an increase in insurance cost which would have to be passed to the player fees. Hans suggested that we find out who Pleasanton carries insurance with. All routes will be explored prior to our next meeting.
8:17 PM City Rep Reports
Danville, Doug Vezina
Doug reported that Danville fields and insurance is already covered. He also informed everyone that the Diablo Cup will be the 2nd week in July.
San Ramon, Bill Gilfillan
Bill reported that San Ramon fields are covered. Wes asked for Bill’s phone number, Bill shared it.
Walnut Creek, Linda Zoccoli
Linda stated that the Concord team she had mentioned at our last meeting was still interested in joining DASL under the city of Walnut Creek. It was noted that the team would have had to have $100 plus a roster prior to this meeting. There were discussions as to the pros and cons of this team joining the league, ultimately it was decided that the team would be welcome to join in the Fall of 2003, but not for the Spring session.
Orinda, Stuart McAllister
Nothing to report
8:31 PM Old/Unfinished Business
Hans proposed that if a pass is not received 8 days after the issuance of a disciplinary letter, the team must forfeit each game from that point forward until the pass is received. Wes will write the formal proposal and distribute via e-mail for review.
8:41 PM New Business
Doug inquired as to why the league re-aligns the teams mid-season if the season is considered Sept – June. Danville charges by the season, the re-alignment could possibly be considered as a change in seasons. It was noted that there are 2 sessions per season and re-alignment is done to reduce team dominance issues.
